Child Birth Would Have Been Easier

I am not big on New Year’s Resolutions, at all. So I did not make one. In fact this resolution came after the new year. To be more specific it came as I was looking at pictures from our family trip to Disney World last May.

I was in better shape then than I am now, but I wasn’t even anywhere near where I wanted to be. So I searched the interwebz, just Amazon really, in search of a workout “tape” to get my arse in shape. I came up with 30 Day Shred. You know, the one with Jillian Michaels in it. And to make sure I got on the path to a healthier me I bought her book as well, Master You Metabolism.

I won’t lie, when they arrived I thought, dang I’m going to be a personal trainer someday! I got this book, this “tape” I am good to go! So I set out to start my exercise and the about 3 minutes in I though, “I’m going to die!” I gave it a little while longer and did what I told myself I wasn’t. I quit.

That’s right, I’m a freaking quitter. I thought to myself child birth was easier, I got drugs with it. Lots and lots of drugs. But I didn’t quit all together, I made a point to get on the treadmill and walked 2 miles.

I’ll let you know how the next attempts go…Oh and don’t mind that crazy face I seem to be making. I’m crazy like a fox, yo.

I am in absolute love with the 90′s station on Sirius/XM radio. We just got a subscription for Christmas and that is all we have been listening to since.

Today while driving in the car we got to hear 3 great examples of fabulous 90′s music. Mary Mo (New Age Girl) and Hip Hop Hooray. I am not winning any mother of the year competitions with the selection of music I let my children listen to. But hey, they are little and don’t get all the innuendos…Yet…

And one day they will love me because I have introduced them to this generation of music way before their friends found it. You know, because no other parent my age is listening to it.

To be fair we also listen to our fair share of Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Guns N Roses, Poison, and Mötley Crüe.

My Husband Hates Pinterest

We all know what it is. Pinterest, the BEST time suck in the world. Really it is. I needed to figure out dinner one day so I consulted Pinterest and BAM dinner was served. Ok, not really, I spent 3 hours looking at food and still hadn’t cooked. I digress.

I can often be found sitting at my desk consulting Pinterest for a tutorial or idea for my next project. My husband has come to hate the words, “I saw on Pinterest” come out of my mouth. It either means 1.) I am going to go on a mad goose chase looking for crazy items needed for a project or 2.) I am about to ask him to do something. Like paint the bedroom for the 5th time. I actually have stopped asking him and just do it myself. But that can get pretty costly.

So now I speak in code. “Oh honey, so and so did a white wash on their mantel…I saw this great recipe online…on tv…read it in a book…” But I think he might be catching on.
